Texas Roadhouse in Albuquerque

So there is a fairly new establishment in Albuquerque called Texas Roadhouse, many of you may have one of these close to you. From what I recall, I have been there four times; most of the time I did not choose to go there. I did want to go there the first time, but from then forth I have been really disappointed.

This place is a tourist trap based out of Kentucky. I know, what the hell is a Kentucky based business going after the Texas theme? I think that both states are fine, but that is like selling your identity to market marginal steaks. When you walk in you can get a fistful of peanuts in a bucket, a hostess stand with a combined IQ of less than my shoe size, and a display case of steaks in a refrigerator.

I like peanuts than I can munch on while waiting for a table and then proceed to throw the waste on the floor. The hostess stand if full of apathetic morons. They do not seat your party based upon your needs and they put their servers in a bad position, I will elaborate later in the blog. The display case is a fairly wise strategy because many of the steak houses I have been to around the county display their goods; for example Charley's in Orlando. Charley's leaves a tray of their steaks to show their customers what is available, but this is like comparing Lebron James to the Jr. Varsity star forward. I like how they display the steaks in the case because this allows you to examine a cross section of the quality of meat.

I will begin the story of my latest experience. I went to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate the birthday of a family member. My family is large, so I understand the issues involved, but we called ahead so they would have time and the resources to accommodate us. We get shown our seats, low and behold, there are not enough seats. The remainder of our party is seated elsewhere a few minutes later. This is where the host stand put the server in a bad position. She had separated a large party due to the hostess' ability to accommodate guest. I wait twenty minutes to put my order in for a water and a beer, I then wait thirty minutes for the beer and water to arrive. In the meantime, I get tired of waiting and go to the bar to get my own beer at the bar. I tell the bar tender about my slow server. I then notice that I am not getting the rolls that are saturated in butter have not been delivered to my table in forty minutes of waiting so I then tell the hostess station my issues. They only accomidate my table by bringing rolls, not sending a manager to address the issues. I am specific about my order, very specific. I get the wrong salad, after half of my party receives their entrees. I then get the correct salad after I get my entree. My entree does not come the way I ordered. I wait another fifteen minutes to get my potato fixings and another twenty to get my steak the way I want it.

So all in all a tourist trap that charges to much for marginal steak. I give the joint one star out of five.
